Stuff to remember to do. Figure out about my license plates; they only gave me a temp sticker but they didn't say when/how I'd get permanent ones. Buy books for my next set of summer classes, which start Monday. Mail mom's license plate back to her. Figure out car insurance. Get a new nipple piercing; one fell out and I shoved a tongue barbell through to hold it open.

I think that's it.

I put together Stories. Now I'm trying to advertise it. I want to put up an ad on RPG-D but you have to have at least 15 "meaningful" posts there before you can submit an ad, and of course I'm following the rule to the letter. It's hard to respond with meaningful posts, though, on a site centered around roleplaying when I haven't been on the roleplaying scene in over a year.

I am, however, thinking of starting up my own RPG. Perhaps not wise since I'm not "in the know" anymore about these things, but someone threw out an idea for anyone else to pick up--a nittier, grittier retelling of Kingdom Hearts--and I absolutely adore it. I was going to try joining an RPG that interests me to get a feel for it again first, but I can't find one that I'm really drawn to.

I'm considering it. I think I'll set it up just on my computer first to see how it would work, and then decide.

The lies we live will always be confessed in the stories that we tell.
- Orson Scott Card

A story may be crafted out of lies, but it can tell deep truths about human nature. Throughout history mankind has been a race of story-tellers, and this is a fact that hasn't changed, though many people tell stories now in different media. But there is something beautiful about crafting a story simply out of words and yet creating a scene that the reader or listener can see. We at Stories are of the opinion that there are too few refuges on the internet these days for story-tellers who still prefer the medium of words.

Stories is a home for writers. We welcome poets, roleplayers, and authors of fanfiction and original fiction--anyone with a passion for exercising their imagination through writing. With your help, we hope to create a community in which writers can find support, encouragement, advice, and (perhaps especially) other writers who share their tastes. We want members to be able to form lasting relationships with other story-tellers. We also hope to add more features as we grow, developing in areas where members show more interest.

I registered. (: Mainly to support your cause or whatever, but also because I miss the old days and having little projects. So I'm gonna poke around and see what greatness you've been up to. I hope this one works out, it looks very promising from what I've skimmed through.

Awww :) I miss them too, but I was so hesitant to start a new one because of my track record with projects like this. Meh.

So what's your next big concert going to be? You always seem to have something lined up :P

Yeah, I know what you mean. *crosses fingers* Hopefully this one won't crash and burn. Even though they always failed, I still had fun with them while they lasted.

I'm going out in a minute, but I'll fill out the application when I get back (or tomorrow morning, since I'm off work). I know this is your baby, but if you need any help moderating or something, you know I'm here.

Course :D I'm not sure what I'm gonna do about staff yet, only that if I do add some other mods or admins that I want them to have writing and stuff on the site already. I want to see that they're invested, you know? Eh.

How many hours you working lately?

Yeah, makes sense. And to answer your question from before I'm seeing Rise Against on the 24th, then nothing until Burning Man at the end of August (which isn't technically a concert, but that's what I'm saving for). Oh, and Harry Potter on Tuesday. :D But that's all I got lined up for the summer, really. BM is hella expensive and I'm flying out to Denver and driving with people from there, so I can't really be going out and spending money.

Well, the new guy just quit (stopped showing up rather, and after the break-in what a retard) and Daniel went to his other job for the rest of the summer again, so I'm left to pick up all the slack really. I had about 50 last week, but I worked everyday and pulled a double and around 35 regularly. Which is nice cause it doesn't really give me time to go out and waste money when I should be saving it, you know?

I remember Burning Man from Malcolm in the Middle, sadly enough =P Sounds like an awesome trip. But yeah, money.

Double advantage of working that much: not only do you not waste money, but you make more of it! Woot.

I forgot how soon Half-Blood Prince was coming out! Definitely need to buy tickets.

So we should hang out at some point. I'm not exactly sure yet what my schedule will be at work now that I've changed to summer session II classes, but we'll see. I usually work early on weekends, which leaves the afternoon/evening free. That's all I know for sure right now though.

I got my HBP ticket like 3 weeks ago. xD Like I said, I have little to look forward to this summer, haha.

Saturday is my day off and then I'm off every other Sunday (I worked yesterday, so I'm off next Sunday). So weekends are pretty good for me too. :)

If they're not sold out, I need to buy one now. hmmm.

Maybe Saturday then? I should get off a little after one. I might be tired but I can always nap later x) Maybe we could meet in DC, or I could just drive out there--I mean, I haven't even seen where you are since you moved, right?

Looks like you've got a worthy project going! Work's been eating up a lot of my summer time, but now that your second summer class has started and I'm in CP, we need to grab lunch/workout/hangout.

I'll put together my application tomorrow.

Sweet!

I'm taking two summer classes actually, gah they're long. And I'm still working all the time. But I do need to get out. Yargh. I'm going to a wedding this weekend! That's good.
