karriezaiSo I've worked two reduced section shifts, and I made more money than I was expecting. Last night I made $74; I had my little two table section, but one girl was late, so I picked up three or four tables in her section and made extra money there. Then at 9:30 or so when Margaret did cuts, she told me I was doing really well and gave me a five table section... but nobody was really coming in anymore, I only got one or two more tables after that.
My last guests were the nicest guys ever, though. They wanted clams but couldn't have any because the steamer was broken, and then their food took forever coming out of the kitchen... but then they still tipped me twenty dollars on their $25 bill. Talk about restoring your faith in humanity.
Today Margaret didn't open, and Kevin hadn't seen me work, so I was expecting a two table section. I asked for three tables and Allie, the head wait, gave it to me... but two of them were dead tables, not a single person sat there all morning. Stephanie, though, was nice enough to give me two of her tables, once because she didn't want another table at the moment and once because she had to use the restroom.
I work again Saturday night, a UFC night. It should be busy and the money should be good. I'm going to ask for at least a three table section. A night that busy, three tables might be enough for me. If at least one is a booth or if at least two are high tops, I think. Booths go first, then high tops. People avoid the lower tables as much as possible, generally.
I also work Thursday and Friday at Starbucks. Opening Thursday... 10 or so Friday.
Tonight and tomorrow I get to spend some good time with Danny. I'm glad. We can drink if we want to :) I don't like getting home so late that he's half passed out, if not asleep already. Which is weird since yesterday he didn't wake up until eleven, very unusual for him, and then had trouble staying awake until 1 or so when I got home. Meh.
