.o54 x a lost job and a contest entry

So Danny left Starbucks. It was a long time in coming... eh. He's already back at Safeway (he's at work right now, and I'm at his house hanging out on my own until he gets off at 6). He's gonna take college classes, and get certified as an MCP, which is apparently more important than a degree anyway when it comes to computers. And Safeway wants to put him in charge of their Starbucks when it opens in a couple months since he already has experience. So the outlook seems pretty good for him.

I'm finally listening to Linkin Park's new single, and wow, I can't wait to get their CD. I love the sex out of Linkin Park. It's still my favorite band. I'm also thinking about getting the new Chevelle CD.

I entered Writers of the Future finally. I took my second short story from NaNoWriMo 2005 and edited it a tad, then submitted it. Mailed it and everything. I was kind of in a hurry to put in all my edits, so I think I missed a couple of places where my apostrophes were incorrect, but I guess they'll just think I missed that lesson in English class. And I didn't get around to looking up manuscript format for italics and bold face... I think italics are supposed to be underlined, and if so, oops. But oh well. Hopefully they'll like it. It's the story quality that matters most, right? And I followed the contest rules, which is always a plus.

Spring break started with cold weather and even some snow yesterday morning... the weather is fucking crazy lately. I dunno my schedule for this week yet. It's supposed to be posted today. I need to call in, but I dunno if I can actually get someone on the phone to tell me my schedule. Especially since it's Easter Sunday and probably insanely packed. My best bet may be to call tomorrow morning... or maybe tonight around nine when they're getting ready to close. We'll see. I suppose I should try calling now at least once, though.

Eh, and I have to go to Guilford this weekend. Blaaahh.

Yay for Danny! I decided that you need to go to Maryland because you'll be closer and it looks like I'm now going away for another year. (I actually just had a very promising job interview in Dupont Circle at a law firm on Friday.) I'll post about it after I clean my room, I suppose. I've been majorly preoccupied. -_-

Receptionist/Secretary type thing. It's nothing special... but it is a real job, you know? Haha, people have been telling me recently that I actually should be a lawyer. So, IDK. I think I'm just gonna take a year off, make money for college, and take some classes at community college. I really don't know what I want to do, but I'm hoping I'll find it soon.

I hope so, too. I couldn't be a lawyer when career advancement depends upon winning the case even if you know your client is wrong. =/ But yeah, a real job is cool. Metroing to dupont all the time would suck, though.

You mean like the week starting next Monday? I dunno how much time I'll have this week. It's spring break, but I probably work every day until Friday, when I leave to visit that college. I dunno my schedule for sure yet, though.
