Aze and I have been working on Darkplay [/pimpage], so I haven't really had... not time so much as initiative to post. Ah, me. I also read Hawksong, which currently is my favorite Amelia Atwater-Rhodes book, and I am very impatient to get the other two that are out in that particular series. It's funny... Amelia Atwater-Rhodes doesn't even seem that awesome, not like George R.R. Martin or Orson Scott Card, but her writing is so addictive. Funnier still that I just got into her books because she started writing at like... 13... and I was about the same age when I picked up In the Forests of the Night and had great aspirations to be an author. I still do.
But anyway, moving on...
I've been roleplaying more. I really need to go back and finish up my Nano... I'll talk about that in a minute, but first the roleplaying.
First there's the one with Xenom. I'm having trouble coming up with replies for it. I don't know... the creativity has been sapped out of me or something. It's a cool setting, if a little bleak... Frozen valley with all passages out blocked, harsh living conditions, a village that can hardly sustain its 40 or so people. Maybe it's the characters. I have Skatch, who's going on a hunt, and his little boy, Nat... I also have Great Hunter, of a tribe of Innuit-esque nomads descending from the north into the valley. Skatch would be my preference as a plot character, being an adult, a father... easier to play with. But the only characters Xen and I have interacting are the little boy and Xen's character, another boy named Idjit.
Then there's the RP with its plot yanked from the Lion King 2, which I'm rather liking so far, though at first I was worried my roleplaying abilities might not be up to par and now I'm more worried hers might be a little rough -- she's good, but the little things. I think I'm just being waaay too picky right now, and I'm having fun with that roleplay, which is all that really matters, eh?
Darkplay, but we haven't started RPing there yet. I think Aze's a little more into it than me. I love it, but I'm like, gah, how are we going to fit all these boards, some of them with the same name, on one site? Eee. Avidgamers is so freeing, but also so limiting. It has some serious tissues. So yeah, love the roleplay set up, just wrapped up in 'What the hell are we gonna do when...'
I just started a roleplay with a neopets girl I met who plays a nice Axel. Not nice as in cheery, nice as in she's a good roleplayer... of course. I only got to post an intro before she had to go, but plans are on to continue, probably by email (which is good for me, I prefer email to AIM). If you aren't KH-literate, that's a Kingdom Hearts roleplay.
Now back to my writing. I'm thinking I may need to rewrite it... I'll probably have to. But I know I shouldn't. I should at least finish it first if I'm going to rewrite it. Bad practice to start over in the middle, even when I'm this far along. Hawksong has made me want to write my books in first person, though. So many advantages -- for starters, less pronoun confusion, which... omg, sweet sanity.
So I'm going to force myself to write to the end, then go through major edits and see if it's salvageable without a rewrite. That'd be nice, eh? Particularly for a NaNo, even if I don't just write without reserve the way I'm supposed to... too much of a perfectionist for that, at least when it comes to writing.
Eysuria, though, will definitely be written in first person.
Riiight. I'm going to read more votes on sorting_elite now. -_-; So far looks Ravenclaw, but with quite a bit of Puff and even some Gryff mixed in. I want Puff dammit. -sigh- Oh, and one squib, without explanation, so I... won't take it too seriously, not that I would anyway with my obsessiveness. Not.
