.155 x it's raining it's pouring
Soooo.
Yesterday opening with George wasn't so bad, although I didn't get off as early as I was hoping.
After I got off work, Danny and I went to go get his new car. It's a copper red Mazda 3 hatchback, truly sexy... although it was a horrible shame that it was raining the day Danny got to bring it home. It took forever to get through everything, though. Danny was convinced buying a car didn't take long at all, but I told him he was wrong. He was. (Apparently buying his Trans Am in Tuscon was really quick because it was used and it was, well, Tuscon.)
I like it a lot. It'll be weird never looking for him in his little green Saturn again, but it's a beautiful car.
George called to ask me to work a short shift this morning. "Just a few hours, six to ten... or eleven." I told him I could do six to ten, but no longer because I have a project due tomorrow. Not precisely true -- it's not a project, but I do have a lot of work to do for stupid-class, and I'm hoping to finish it for tomorrow. I was going to go into DC to see some Japan events, but as the rain is sucking, I decided against it. This just means that I actually have time for a nap.
Anyway, I went in this morning, and George is retarded (as per usual). He already had a six to ten person scheduled (Emily) in addition to himself and his opener (Leshan). Then Ashlee was scheduled to come in at 8:45. It's a little much to explain, but the basic points are:
* Since we're short a shift he had to open instead of working a mid, which he normally does on Mondays so that he has time to do his admin crap (like payroll! Very important!).
* Ashlee is eight months pregnant and not allowed to be on her feet more than five hours, but she was scheduled 8:45 until 5 (and with only Breshawn to work with between 1 and 4:30).
* He completely wasted the four hours of plenty of coverage between 6 and 10 by going to another store, other random crap, and doing the deposit instead of admin day stuff; when I left, payroll wasn't even done.
Five minutes before I was supposed to leave he told me he wanted me to put away the shipment in the back. It's a lot of boxes, almost none of which I even know where they belong. Then he got on the phone, then left to go to the bank so I couldn't tell him, "Look, I need to leave now."
So I called Danny, and he agreed with what I should do: I clocked out in the back and just left. I told him expressly last night that I couldn't stay past ten.
He hasn't called me yet. I don't know how he took it. He might try to write me up next time I see him, but I won't sign it. God he's an idiot.
So I have quite a bit of schoolwork to do today, but I don't think it'll be too bad. The most time consuming will probably be reading The Ruined Map, which I don't have to finish quite yet.
I was accepted at
hogwarts_elite as a Hufflepuff =) I'm excited.
